Glyphosate is the active ingredient herbicide (weed-killer) found in Monsanto’s Roundup. It is the world’s top-selling weed-killer. Monsanto has been modifying the genetics of various crops (soy, wheat, corn, cotton, etc) in order that they can withstand higher and higher doses of Roundup without themselves being killed off by this herbicide.

However, there are consequences to all that spraying — the stuff eventually ends up in our foods. Click the following link to see an independent lab report anresco_reports_food_testing_2016, showing the levels of Glyphosate now found in many of the most common American food products.
Congratulations to the farmers who are too lazy to pull weeds and who put profit margin and yields ahead of the quality and safety of the food that they are producing for you. Also congrats to the biotech firms like Monsanto that have been lobbying to keep you from knowing what is in your food by prohibiting the labeling of foods made from GMO crops. Also, congrats to the dumb politicians that are foolish or greedy enough to support this poisoning of the U.S. food supply.

Okay, a very disturbing post. Makes me want to go dive in a nice warm tropical location like the Cayman Islands and swim with these Blue Tangs. Despite global warming, these reefs are still in fairly good shape.
